The Breg universal pad is the general-purpose option in the range: a rectangular pad with long straps that will secure to a thigh, calf, bicep, chest or knee rather than being contoured to one joint. It is the right choice for areas the shaped pads do not cover — a hamstring strain, a quad contusion, a calf tear — and for anyone who wants a single pad that will move between injuries rather than buying a new one each time. Chilled water circulates through it from the Polar Care Wave while an air bladder applies intermittent compression. Its fit range is correspondingly broad, from a 20 cm knee to a 124 cm chest, taking a bicep or calf up to 51 cm and a thigh up to 119 cm. It measures 33 × 32 cm laid flat.

How it works
The pad wraps the treated area and connects to the Polar Care Wave by a single hose. Chilled water from the unit circulates through channels in the pad while an air bladder inflates and deflates against the skin, so cold and intermittent compression are applied together rather than one after the other. The pad shape is contoured to the joint it is made for, which keeps the cold in contact with the tissue that needs it.
