How to Fit Your NICE1 Wrap: Shoulder, Foot & Ankle
Published · by Recovery Kit Team
Getting the wrap on correctly is what makes cold and compression therapy work. A well-fitted wrap sits flush against the joint for even coverage; a loose one leaves gaps and cold spots. These short videos show exactly how to fit the shoulder and the foot & ankle wraps.
The NICE1 works by circulating temperature-controlled water through an anatomically shaped wrap while applying intermittent compression. The therapy is only as good as the contact between the wrap and your skin — so a few minutes spent fitting it properly is worth it every session. Below are the two wrap-specific guides; the principles are the same for every wrap in the range.
Fitting the shoulder wrap
Rest the wrap over the shoulder so it sits squarely over the joint, then secure the straps snugly — firm enough to hold the wrap flush against the skin, but not so tight that it digs in or restricts circulation. Connect the hose to the unit until you hear the audible click.
Fitting the foot & ankle wrap
Position your foot and ankle inside the wrap so it sits evenly around the ankle joint, then fasten from the foot upwards, keeping the pressure even along its length. As with the shoulder, connect the hose until it clicks, then check there are no folds or gaps before you start.
A few tips for every wrap
- Snug, not tight. The wrap should feel secure and flush — you should still be able to slide a finger under the strap.
- No gaps. Smooth out any folds so the wrap makes full contact with the skin for even coverage.
- Listen for the click. The hose is only seated correctly when you hear it lock into the unit.
- Comfortable position. Sit or lie down before you press start — it's safe to rest or sleep during a session.
